#MakanReview : Shin Nihon, Hartamas

Assalamualaikum,

We went to Shin Nihon recently to celebrate our anniversary, just the two of us (though we ended up video calling Leia 😍). The reservation was made by Whatsapp, super convenient! They had tweaked their operation hours during MCO, and we came as soon as they were open; at 4.30pm.

The parking was a nightmare but they had free valet parking on-site, so just leave your car keys at the counter.

We were told to go to the second floor where the small private dining rooms were located. It could fit 2 adults comfortably. As it was our first time, we ordered the famous item on the menu.

Top - Special salted beef tongue with scallions and onion (RM40)
Bottom - Kale salad (RM28)

Top - Japanese Wagyu 400g (RM360)
Bottom - Sliced wagyu rice bowl (RM40)

Bottom : Australian Wagyu 100g (RM70)

Matcha Tiramisu (RM15)

Did we love the food? Yes, some more than others!.
Will we come again? Definitely! But not for the wagyu slices. Hahaha

Our favourites; salted beef tongue, wagyu rice bowl and the matcha tiramisu. Will try other menus the next time we went there!

And oh, it's halal. Obviously!

Overall rating : 4.8/5

#Product Review - Mamaway Nano Bamboo Postnatal Recovery & Support Belly Band

Having slipped disc is a double whammy for moms. During pregnancy it hurts because of the extra weight you're carrying and after delivery, there's the sagging belly (for the first few weeks). You'll need support for both your back and your belly especially to stabilise wound and help with abdominal separation.

So I bought Mamaway's Nano Bamboo Postnatal Recovery & Support Belly Band during my third trimester after reading rave reviews on the internet. I ordered from their official website and got the package a few days after (it was very quick).

The band comes in 2 sizes; S-M (waist size 20-36 inches) and L-XL (waist size 30-50 inches) which I think is great as it allows a wide range of mothers to use it. [I got myself the L-XL size]

What's interesting and important to note is that the belly band can be used both by mothers who had vaginal birth and C-section. This is the reason why I bought it in advance since I will definitely be able to use it (some belly band are not suitable to be used by mothers who had C-section).

I've packed the belly band in my hospital bag and used it on the third-day post C-section operation. It helped me tremendously in stabilizing the belly and avoiding the wound to move as much. At first, I was worried about the material as it seems hard and scratchy but OMG it's super soft and so comfortable. So much so that I wore it to sleep 😂

I like the fact that it's easily adjustable. On days that I wanted more compression, I simply pull it a little tighter. Unlike traditional belly band, I could wear and adjust this on my own. Currently, I'm in my 3rd months post-partum and I am still wearing the band sometimes (I wore it religiously during the confinement period).

It may seem a bit pricey at RM330, but it is so worth it! Will I recommend this to other moms? Definitely!!! This will be one of my top recommendations for expecting mothers!

You can get the belly band at this link here.  Mamaway has also been gracious enough to offer a discount to those using this code 'MAMABLOG-EVA' (You'll get RM15 off for purchase over RM150).

Hi! I'm going to share the list of things I've prepared in my hospital bag versus the things that I actually need (for future reference). But bear in mind, these are tailored to my experience in Andorra Hospital. You may need some other items should you gave birth at other hospitals.

Quite a lot, right? But in reality, if you're giving birth at Andorra these are all you need;

Food-wise, you're gonna be fed well. Don't worry! Haha Plus there's a cafe on the ground floor, you can also order food from Chef Zubir's restaurant and during the day, there are a lot of food trucks nearby. A pack of Sebamed toiletries and a thick towel (you can bring these home!) are provided.

For the baby, the only things needed are the going-back-clothes plus blanket and handkerchief. While she's still at the hospital, everything is taken care of.

Hope this helps!
