#MakanReview : Alissara Thai Cuisine, Puchong Perdana

Hands down, my go-to place for authentic Thai cuisine. Consistent, delicious goodness.

They had been closed for a while for renovation and I had the chance to visit them recently.

I'm sharing some of my favorite dishes below;

Telur Cha-Om
RM10
One of my all-time favorite dish growing up, cha om omelette. It's basically omelette with acacia leaves (daun petai) fried to perfection, served with sambal belacan and prawn meat.

Daging Matahari
RM11
Also used to have this a lot growing up. The meat are seasoned and sun dried for a few days before it's fried with lots of garlic (Mom even packed this for me to bring to Germany 😂). In Alissara, it's so tender and flavorful. I guess they didn't left it to dry for so long. Recommended!

Nasi Goreng Ketam
RM17.90
One of their newest offering, crab fried rice with imported crab meat and crab roe. It was good, just that the meat were a bit dry. But overall, acceptable. I'll stick to my usual fare here though.

Clear Tom Yum
RM12

Pulut Ayam, Kailan Ikan Masin, Tom Yum

They have A LOT on their menu, including desserts and Thai BBQ sausages.
Highly recommended.

My overall rating : 5/5

MBA UiTM : 3rd Semester Review

Nearly at the finishing line, guys! Only a semester to go! As always, here's the recap for my 3rd semester in UiTM.

OPM770: Operation Management
  • Lecturer : Associate Professor Dr Roslina Ab Wahid
  • Such a roller coaster beginning for the semester. It was not a particularly difficult subject but Dr Roslina's expectation was sky high so we were a bit agitated (at least I was)
  • In the span of 5 weeks, we had 2 case study reports, critique paper, midterm test, final exam and final project presentation.
  • For the article critique, we were required to comment on Dr Roslina's own published article. So that's a bit nerve-racking.
  • Final project - we were to improve the operation of any real-life organization and my team chose Family Mart [This was what I love about the modules in UiTM. Most of them revolve around solving real-life business issues]

FIN745: Managerial Finance
  • Lecturer : Professor Dr Noryati Ahmad
  • To say that I'm excited about this module is an understatement but at the back of my head, I'm a bit pressured too because I know I have to do well, being an ACCA member 😝
  • The two biggest output for the module was an individual assignment and group project on performance analysis in which we analysed UEM Sunrise against its competitors.

MIS750: Information Technology Management
  • Lecturer : Dr Syaripah Ruzaini Syed Aris
  • We learnt about formulating IT strategies and at the end of the semester, we have to propose IT strategies for any one organization. We went with EXIM Bank, surprise, surprise!

ABR794: Applied Business Research [Proposal]
  • Lecturer : Associate Professor Dr Nooraini Mohamad Sheriff
  • We've submitted our research proposal in December, under the supervision of Dr Nooraini
  • Our applied research will be on cooking oil brand choice in Malaysia, focusing on ALIF brand

So that basically sums up the 3rd semester of my #MBAJourney.
Exam result will be out mid-February. Hoping all will be as expected 💖

#MakanReview : Don's Diner, PJ

The place is located at Section 17, PJ. We went there for dinner and ordered diavola pizza, beef burger and chocolate lava cake.

Diavola Pizza; RM26 and Beef Burger : RM26
Diavola pizza is a tomato based pizza, topped with mozzarella, chili, onions and beef salami. What looks so simple but sooo amazing. We both loved it so much. For the beef burger, the burger itself was moist and well seasoned. The only downside was the stale potato chips.

Chocolate Lava Cake; RM18
We finished off with chocolate lava cake. You can't go wrong with this chocolaty dessert, served with a side of vanilla ice cream and some fruits.

The restaurant has a 'homey' ambiance to it.  And the food was delicious!

My rating : 4/5.
